Wine is a drink that can be enjoyed in many different ways. Many people enjoy the occasional glass of wine and know enough about the subject to be able to avoid wines they are unlikely to like. But the world of wine is ripe for exploring, and there is a great deal to learn.

Corkbin is an iPhone and iPad app that enables you to record your journey of discovery in wine. Corkbin users can share details of wines they have tried so you can find out what your friends and people nearby are drinking at the moment.

For anyone just getting started out in wine, there is a handy glossary of common terms to help you get to grips with the jargon and you can share your wine experiences via Facebook and Twitter.

As you and other users post details of wines they have sampled, comments can be left. This enables you to build up an idea of other users' tastes so you can better determine whether you should trust their recommendation before filling your wine cellar.

A great introduction to the world of wine and the start of an exciting journey.
